Yahoo has launched a brand new Weather app for Android smartphones, with visual design and features in line with the iPhone version of the app that was launched earlier this year.

The app provides forecasts on top of slideshows featuring pictures of landmarks in cities chosen by the user. The photos are powered by another Yahoo property, Flickr.

Yahoo Weather for Android is now available as a free 11MB download from the Google Play Store. It requires Android 2.3 Gingerbread or above.
